The first may happen. If you seem like a nice guy and play the role of the "tourist that did not know" they will probably let you. Greek police is usually lenient. It's worth a try.G. Van W. wrote:
Thanks for your long answer.
I'll then probably just try to buy ticket for the gate the closest to our supporters. There might also still be the chance the police would let individuals like me enter the St-Etienne fans section.
But when you say "You won't be having any trouble if you don't wear shirt or scarf from your team" , is it that risky if I come to the stadium with my St-Etienne jersey (I would come by the metro)? Or maybe more on the way back after the game?
Well, I can't say for sure. We are not Russians or Polish hooligans, but among 40.000 fans there are always stupid people. You won't be having any problems in the city of Athens, but it's a long walk from the train station (the Metro station is a bit far) to the stadium and most of the "ultras" come by train.
For example I remember Hibernian fans from Scotland in our old stadium (which was more "dangerous" if you could say that) walking the streets and drinking beer without any problems. The only time that I remember incidents in a European game in Olympic Stadium was with a team from Croatia and that was because they were looking for trouble (throwing flares to us etc.). I'd say you will probably be safe, but if I were you, I'd be a bit careful.
It will also depend on what happens in the first game etc.
